I've got one tiny Oxford blue and a couple of Cambridge blue seedlings thanks to @Jenny namaste .
For some reason only one baggy method seed germinated, but at least I got one plant I can hopefully collect seed from later in the year. I've put the rest of the seeds in the heated propagator just in case they wake up. It's been a few weeks though.

Thanks longk. Yes, I'm working on plans to modify an area of soil as I love a lot of plants that need free drainage. I'll look out for S glutinosa as I have quite a bit of space, and I'll give S microphylla a go too. I bought 'The New Book of Salvias' by Betsy Klebsch, which is a wonderful reference, just before moving out here, and so love the genus, so I'll defo have another go with them :fingers crossed: :dbgrtmb:

I have three super hot pink salvias that I really like already. I hacked them right back down to ground level last week and can see some new growth already. But I also plan to buy one of both Amistad and Nachtvlinder for some very dark purples.

I sowed seeds of Salvia Patens "Cambridge and Oxford Blue" and "Royal Bumble" yesterday.

Be careful if they're from Robin as I'm having nigh on 100% germination with his seed! You'll be over-run if like me you sow enough to allow for a few failures :heehee:

I've only sown 3 for myself but still have 12 or more left - if anyone wants a couple?

I'd love some please Jenny, if that's ok. Please let me know if there's anything you would like in return.
I've got the salvia bug I think!

Are there any bright pink and purple flowering salvias that do well in shade?

They really need part shade (ie; morning su, afternoon shade). Wendys Wish does well in these conditions ................
