    Hi Longk, Is that an annual or perennial ? Also, how hardy is it ?

      Just an annual that is every bit as hardy as the common bedding S.splendens, meaning sod all hardiness!

        Let's see...they were germinated in Spring 2016 and planted out in early summer. Overwintered OK, so about 15 months old. The white one wouldn't have been overshadowed or dripped on, so it must have been drought that did for it.

                  Lovely but it is a thug.:noidea:....I have several salvias incl some tasty blues that sucker too. It is a matter of growing them as annuals down here because they comtinue to grow over winter.

                        Looking at the foliage it could be any of a multitude of S.microphylla varieties. Beyond that I couldn't say.

                          S corrugata has been in flower since the end of May down here. I grow it in a large pot and overwinter in a cool greenhouse. I may take cuttings next year and then try outside the next year.

                            @longk @NigelJ thanks for your replies- i realised when searching just how many are similar
                            I will as i thought i might have to- just enjoy it and keep referring to it as i have done as my Mystery LoveHeart Salvia as its leaves are so heart-shaped :imphrt:
