After just sitting outside with a glass of wine watching the sun set and the swallows swooping overhead, what a joy to see your photographs.

    Stunning !

Great shot, Glen! Can't get near a single nest this year - I'm dead envious!

they've flown the nest today and I was lucky enough to be around when all 4 of them made the leap!

first this 1 made a leap for it and covered the metre or so to the rafters across from the nest.

a few minutes later and he was off into the big wide world.

then a 2nd had a go, but wasn't quite as sucessful!

it didn't have much choice other than to let go and flap like mad, following its brother or sister into the sky.

the last 2 obviously had a pact to go together

soon enough all 4 chicks and mum and dad were busy scooting around enjoying a bit of sunshine.

How wonderful that you were there to see them leave the nest and try out their wings for the first time. Thanks for sharing with us Glen.
