i "obtained" 3 fuchia cuttings from Focus, all i do is push them in fresh compost, and if the weather is cool, cover with a cut off plastic bottle. Potted them up today and 2 of them have beautiful roots, the third has pink variagated leaves and seems slower,i must learn to get the names :D:D

regarding the fuchsia cuttings "liberated" from focus all have made nice roots and were planted in their permanent positions last saturday :D

whilst on the subject i was given some cuttings 2 weeks ago they were carefully cut ,dipped in rooting powder and potted,i forgot to bring them home ,and they were brought over last week,i think they are dead or dying,:(
the ones i planted saturday were "pinched" no pun intended, from the parent, and just pushed into a pot, i keep meaning to get some rooting powder,i dont think i will bother:rolleyes:

also the free fuchsias from parkers ,which struggled badly, are just starting to flower and reading another site they have all given problems ,but they look like some lovely flowers to come,:thumb:

Thanks for this thread everyone. I bought a Salvia Hot Lips from a car boot today and one of the twigs broke off. I'd bought some rooting powder a few weeks ago so thought i'd turn the twig into cuttings.

    I've got 6. Fingers crossed. :D

I didn't know about fuchsias rooting in water. I have found them easy in potting compost but I will try this. I have just got some climbing fuchsias. I have rooted roses in water . I didn't think this was possible but it is:eek:
