The tallest of my Sunflowers being grown for large flowers is now approaching 10 foot tall, but once the flower bud starts growing rapidly it will start stooping and losing height

Most of mine are open now the tallest is just opening, the arbour has sunk about 2inch at the back with all the weight of the plants/soil, i did make the legs adjustable so its an easy fix.

They may not be tall, but stocky plants like those stand a good chance of producing a large flower head.

This was the first to bloom (don't ask how high, that's just being picky :nonofinger: ). My son asked if it was dead! :heehee:

This pair survived the slug attacks from earlier in the year; not enjoying the lack of rain though. Again, don't ask the size :th scifD36:

Still have more that have yet to reach the blooming stage, so ... watch this space!

                  Nice job @Jiffy :love30:

I read, quite a few years ago (may even have posted on here?), about growing beans alongside sunflowers so they use the sunflowers to climb up. Your photo proves it is a very happy marriage between the two; looking good!

Saves you a lot of work climbing up to pick the beans though; more like strawberry picking ;)
