      Good afternoon!

The first crocuses have already opened their flower! A daffodil is also about to open its flower. I am very happy with the quality of the daffodil bulbs, of the 10 that came, all ten have sprouted and all have floral stems :yay:

      Terraza 58.jpg

The purple regals have tripled in size compared to last year, so the one at the end is already peeking over the railing and receiving the eastern rays in those branches, so those branches are already flowering, a month and a half earlier than the rest of the regals will, which look north and need more time.

      Thank you for reading!!

Lovely colours, @PzaMayor3. Crocuses can get pretty battered by the weather here. I always think of them as brave little plants, popping their heads up so early in the yr. Yours look very upstanding. :blue thumb:

It’s an amazing feeling, isn’t it? Bulbs don’t at first sight seem all that promising, brown and papery and dried-up looking. Pop them in the ground, stand back … and, wow! :hapydancsmil:

              Greetings to everyone

We've had a somewhat rainy weekend. The daffodils have opened their flowers and have filled me with joy . They have a delicious apricot and yellow tone. Next season I will buy some more to put them together with these and make them more abundant. One of them has come from another variety . Hugs!

Have you tried no dig method? Only kidding!!!

Your balcony looks amazing and your daffodils look superb, such a wonderful plant.

Now you say gardening isn’t a thing in Spain, did you watch Monty Don’s Spanish Gardens last year on the BBC? A head gardeners said he is envious of us Brits, we can put a plant in and it grows, so therefore growing in Spain is more challenging!

Do you have Garden Centres and Nurseries in Spain? I guess with the climate you have, you have no need for a greenhouse, no need to harden off and you can just direct sow? But then again it is never that simple as I would’ve thought you have challenges with your climate.

                But moreover well done.

Thank you so much @GreenFingeredPete !!! So nice words!!! ;)

I haven't finished watching Monty Don's Spanish Gardens... pending task. Here, near the Mediterranean coast, I don't need a greenhouse, there is no frost, but in a large part of the country there is frost, Spain is a fairly mountainous country with a high average altitude, and the entire northern area with the Atlantic and the Pyrenees and Castile is colder... My grandma, for example, has to bring the geraniums inside the house in winter and she has to raise the tomatoes in a greenhouse. She lives in the Pyrenees.

Yes, we have some garden centers and nurseries, but with "basic" plants and hardly any specialized nurseries... looking at British gardens and visiting the pages of your nurseries you can see quantity and quantity of plant species and varieties of the same plant that are very difficult to find here. But it's normal, they don't have that much of a market...

                    Thank you for writting!!!:dbgrtmb:

Interestingly if you put the proper name for that daffodil in it censors you and shows tree. I blame dirty minded Americans and the general lack of latin in education.
The daffodil is Narcissus c-u-m laude (my hyphens) Latin term that means "with distinction," "with praise," or "with honor."and readily available from bulb suppliers in the UK

@ViewAhead Your link doesnt work as it's trying to find Narcissus Tree Laude which doesn't exist on that site.
You'll need to use Google or similar to search and put the full Latin phrase in.
