Thanks again @Fat Controller. :) I tend to have unusual computer problems that either can't be solved or take a long time to solve. If you could speak to my son he would say exactly the same.

I mentioned earlier about modern technology being a problem. I steer clear of all electronic machines when I'm out shopping because they always go haywire when I use them. The same with most watches. Someone once suggested it may be the amount of static electricity in my body, but who knows. :dunno: Sometimes if I hover a finger over my computer touchpad it will respond without being touched. I'm also having a problem with the ignition in my car, I'm hoping that is just my key battery.

      @Sheal
I've never thought of using the buttons at the bottom of the post as I have got used to highlighting what I want to quote (not normally the whole post) and clicking on 'Reply' :noidea:

It could be the keyfob battery @Sheal, but it could also be the car battery. Nissan used FIAMM batteries, and there was a design flaw that resulted in the cathode cracking on the inside; the RAC will generally not muck about with them either - they will simply pop a new battery on, as they know the earlier ones were notorious for failing.

The car battery is fine @Fat Controller. :) My other half's key works normally and when he uses my key it works normally.....can you see the pattern from above emerging here? :snorky: Our car is due for service next month so we'll have the key checked out then. If the key is okay then it'll be time to consider buying a horse and cart.

Don't let the dealer fit a battery to the fob - they will charge you a fortune! They have a CR2032 cell inside them, and it is just a case of popping the cover open and replacing the battery; should get one for pennies in the supermarket or even cheaper from Amazon

Shiney's reply in post #33 has just brought another idea to mind. There's a quote button on the blue band at the bottom of posts and I'm wondering how that functions having never used it. If it is for multi quotes then I don't suppose that would work for me as a single quote button?

Yes - it is not a one step thing though. When you click on it, you will see a blue Insert Quote button appear at the bottom left:

                quote1.png

Clicking on that will open a dialog window:

                quote2.png

If you have clicked on the quote icon in more than one post, they will all appear in here, and you can remove any that you don't wish to quote. Clicking on the Quote These Messages button will insert the quoted message into the text box for you to then add your response.

As a matter of interest, what happens when you click on the blue 'Reply' text that is just to the right of the +Quote?

The blue quote button doesn't seem to work but that may be because the other quote button doesn't either.

The blue reply button works fine - it puts up the fully written post. I've always used that in preference to the quote/reply button for the full post.

Sorry for sounding thick, but I just want to be 100% sure so I know what I am trying to chase... just for my own clarity, the Insert Quotes button that I have highlighted with the arrow in the post above appears, but does not work?

No you don't sound thick to me. You ask the questions and I answer as best I can. :)

No that one doesn't appear. If I highlight a text first the black quote/reply button appears by it.

There's now a song buzzing around my head that's becoming more appropriate to this as time is going on.

Then I may have to report you to the RSPCA. We don't want you messing up the horse's electrics :hate-shocked:

No, Sheal, but the body runs on electrical signals so the horse might not like it being given static electric shocks. :rolleyespink:
