      @GavinW999 - do you have an area of patio or any other hard landscaping between the grassy slope and your house?
      If so, you could do a combination - the wildflower part, which you can enjoy in summer, and then some containers with evergreens, late flowering annuals, spring bulbs etc for the patio. That will mean you have something to look at through winter and into spring, because wildflower areas need cut around late summer/autumn, so they look like your pic all through winter, and until they come into growth again.
      People tend to think wildflowers are an easy alternative to grass, but they often aren't. You need to choose ones which suit your site, and then you also need patience, because it isn't instant, and some will fail while others may take over and be very dominant.
      I don't want to put you off, but it does need a bit of thinking :smile:
