A more modest success than others, but my two plants are looking good and really enjoying the garden room heat, though you need to keep a beady eye on them drying out in a trice! Bought late from the nursery I already have several fruits on the Hungarian Hot Wax so not bad.

Draky Chillies, one on another plant is starting to turn red, wont be seed saving from the plant on the right as shape isn't true. RSM are a real nuisance this year.

I agree, @Scrungee , having a real problem with RSM here too. As item to be as green as possible, I find the best way to deal with them is to plant the plants outside, and let the natural predators clean them. With an overnight temperature of 23c last night, I doubt they will get a chill!

It's absolutely swarming with RSM outside! There's thousands swarming over a corrugated iron roof building near my tunnels at the plot, and when I went to fill my water containers by the outside tap at home they were all over them.

Strange!! It's only my stressed indoor plants get it - I move them outside and they grow healthy new leaves... Maybe I have a colony of RSM-eaters in the vicinity?!!;)

I continued potting on the Nagas today. Bad planning as it was much too hot for me to work outside. :nonofinger: I'd had enough after two hours :phew:

I've used 140 litres of compost, so far, for this potting on!

I only thought about getting the camera out after I'd started

The short ones in the front are just some of my 30 Shiney Hybrids. The tall ones are all Nagas.

Some of the S Hybrids (they always fruit early)

I'll pot on the Hybrids when it's cooler and I have a blowaway full of plants to pot on.

Please don't laugh, but we are about to pick our first chilli of the year.... I think it is one of the Ring of Fire plants. Interestingly, the largest chilli on the Italian green chilli is, umm, starting to turn red! Maybe we should have picked it already?

Turning red!?! Mine have only just turned up never mind turning red! Although this is my most successful year growing chillies, I'm still way off the pace of you guys :(

It quite often depends on the variety. :blue thumb:

image.jpg Here is our first crop of chillies (minus a second red Lombardo, which is cooking in our ratatouille).

Ring of fire to the left (had to cut some unripe out, as the plant was stressed) and Lombardo to the right (supposed to be a green chilli?!)

Two days ago I potted on another 30 plants. These were the rag tag lot that had been left lying about in different places. Some of them were only in 3" pots and were looking quite sorry for themselves.

I put them into 3 Litre pots and given them a feed and two of them have just started to produce chillies (none of them appeared to have any flowers when I potted them on!).

The Shiney Hybrids are now cropping at about 20 a day and some of the Nagas look almost ready to pick. The Nagas are green at the moment but, according to all the Asian community that I speak to, they have a better flavour when green than when red.

My Nagas are very slow and look dishevelled but my Shiney Hybrids are doing well:blue thumb:

Your Shiney Hybrids are doing well (even better than ours) and you should be getting enough, from what I can see, to keep you going until your Nagas are ready. Keep picking them and they'll carry on producing right through to winter. :blue thumb:

Some of the Nagas are doing OK but nowhere near as prolific as last year. Maybe they'll pick up in a week or two.

                        P1240381.JPG

The leaves have been looking more stunted and twisted than their natural twisted condition. :noidea: All these Nagas were from the one plant that you gave us last year. :blue thumb:
