My chillies seem to be producing well, more than enough really.
One problem though is I've noticed greenfly.
I've wiped the leaves top and under to smear them off and scooped as many as I can off the soil but they seem to return the next day.
So have sprayed them with water diluted with fairy but not sure how strong to make it, I made it with a couple of drops to a pint. Outdoors I use a fair squirt to about 1 pint of water, what do you recommend for indoor grown plants? Not sure why I think the ratio should be different but ...
Anyone got a dilution ratio that works and doesn't damage the plant?

I put a glug in and it made the leaves go dry and brown up, so don't go too silly!
Put out a container of water and go out catching ladybugs?

Sorry, can't help as I don't use anything. We rarely have trouble with greenfly on the chillies but, in the winter, we tend to get whitefly on them. A few harsh words seems to help :heehee:

Chilli poppers! This is what happens to must of our chillies... That and cheese on toast mmm

Grab chillies, soft cheese, mozzarella, Serrano ham, or any thin ham.

    1439921273815-1615067753.jpg

Slice chillies in half and stuff with soft cheese and mozzarella

    1439921755777-107497794.jpg

Wrap in ham ( use as much or as little as you want) and grill until your preferred state of cooked!

    Then enjoy!

      Looks good :blue thumb:

You wouldn't be able to do that with our chillies unless you had reserved your bed in the local hospital first! :heehee:

I had one of shiney's 'Hybrids' (first one) yesterday, in a beef chilli. Was nicely warm. I've been here before, and it'll probably end in tears as the season progresses

Those green ones in my post are Nagas. Very hot and when they go red they're very, very, hot :hate-shocked:. The Bangladeshis that I supply say that they should be eaten green as those ones have a better flavour.

How big are the marrows in that show? (thought about bringing one to offset fuel costs of a trip that way).

I've been selling the ripe chillies for a month already. We also give plants away as payment for the people who come and look after our greenhouse, pots, baskets and tubs when we're away.

We've got the plants dotted all over the greenhouse and keep moving them around as other plants are taken in or out of there (or outgrow their space).

The Shiney Hybrids have done quite well this year and we must have picked thousands by now :blue thumb:

We've even got the plants intermingled with the fuschias!

The Nagas are doing well (sold at the Asian Wholesalers for our charity) but are not as prolific as usual. Luckily we have more plants than usual. :) (Had to take this last photo on zoom as Mrs Shiney had moved some of the other chilli plants into the pathway whilst she worked in there!) The Naga plants are spread across the back of the greenhouse.

A question for the chilli smart here.
I can't decide what is going on with my chilli plants this year!
Finally they are starting to get some heat to them, they have all been like peppers (bar the white buht jokolias... they have gone properly hot!)
And! They are all growing like giants, every chilli just seems to be massive, i have big hands, bigger than the "large" gloves you can get for gardening, latex ones etc.
                  IMAG0800.jpg
                  Chaianne...

Then hungarian hot wax and jalapeno

                  IMAG0801.jpg

                  And another Chaianne.

                  IMAG0803.jpg

Not complaining, i want them to do this again next year, they are beautiful to eat with lots of different meals!

                  And the white buht jokila's
Love the taste, love the smell, love the plant, growing this one again next year.

the only plant to get spicy and the correct size this year too!
