On behalf of all my chilli plants :ThankYou:
(They would come on here to speak for themselves, but they are too busy guzzling up their tomato food - oh yes, and they are plants!)

How frequently should they have this feast? Would love to be in the position that I don't know what to do with all my chillies!!

Just a small amount at first, maybe once a fortnight. Then increase to once a week when the fruits are growing well. Others may do theirs differently.

A question, what do most of you do about aphids on the plants? We have too many plants to get rid of the aphids by hand. I normally wouldn't use chemicals but a lot of them will be going on sale at the wholesalers.

      Ladybirds Shiney ;)

I go round nettles collecting Ladybirds and then releasing them onto the aphids, as soon as they have finished their job, they move along.

      Thanks, Nathan.

We've got the plants indoors at the moment. They wouldn't have anywhere to move on to :noidea:

I cant compete on quantity, but this years plants are coming on well:

Aji limon, Peperoncino (kebab shop chilli) x2 - in flower / setting pods, long cayenne

      --
Bhut Jolokia x2, Yellow Hab, White Hab

Theres another three to go in there when i get around too it & 4 or 5 in the other greenhouse if I can find room.. that should be enough to keep me going.

I probably wont start proper feeding for a month or so, although I have been adding a little high nitrogen feed once a week or so just to get them going.

Chilligrow from garden sensations - same sort of thing as the Duogrows but designed for chillies so smaller reservoir & slightly bigger pots ; Works nicely when I only get a chance to top the water up once or twice in the week.

I have both - I use the quadgrows for the tomatoes & this year Im trying cucumbers & aubergines in them:

I have no complaints & Ive found greenhouse Sensations quite responsive to my stupid questions - if I was to do it again I would have put a trench in the greenhouse so I could sink the reservoir down under the ground 'cos they are quite tall & vertical space is at a premium for some things. I noticed that they are doing a trial of self watering systems on Beechgrove Garden this year & they have a quadgrow, so we will have to see how it does in comparison.

Ive never tried chillies in there, I dont think I need too as the chillies will be trying to escape by the end of the season (assuming that there are no disasters):

Don't laugh, oh chilli maestros, but my first chilli plant started flowering on Saturday!

I have another about to break into flower, and four more showing lots of buds. The rest are, shall we say, taking the tortoise approach to life!

That's spotless compared to mine!

I daren't try to clean mine as the greenhouse might fall down. It's only the dirt that's holding it together.

Well, I now have 3-4 plants in flower, and I'm pleased with hoe the plants are still compact.

Very pleased to see plants I gave away 3-4 weeks ago, also still looking good, and about to burst into flower (outside in sheltered spot in city site).

Still have more chilli plants than I know what to do with - is this normal?!!

My Tokyo Hot are starting to flower. This is nearly 2 months later than last years Chillies ! Although I did prune them back by a third in mid April , as they were lanky. Still they are looking very healthy, and can move out to the GH when I have some room. :dbgrtmb:
Sian I do prick out a lot off chillies but only keep three my self and give all the rest away. One year I gave so many away , I had to buy myself two from the garden centre

 I feel like Billy No Mates now. I have been offering chilli plants to as many people as I can think of for over a month now, but still have loads left. The life of an expat is not all chicken salad lunches and afternoon Pimms, you know. Mostly, it's being lonely surrounded by people....

I think I'll take a tray with me to church tomorrow, and not let people leave the building until they have all been claimed!!:blue thumb:
