      @Logan I agree. This is the easiest way to store them. Mine are all super hot peppers so I crush them and put a spoonful into little 2"x3" zip bags and freeze them. So convenient to pull them out of the freezer and throw into bread dough or whatever. :)

          I want to grow a Jalapeno chili next year , something mildish for grilling and salads. Just been viewing seed suppliers and confusingly there are two descriptions on some sites - Jalapeno Mild and Jalapeno hot . I just want the standard Jalapeno which shows about 5000 on the scoville scale. Are there different types of Jalapeno ?
          TIA

            One foot is definitely Imperial :heehee:

            and three make a yard (not a garden),
            22 yards is a Chain (but you can't restrain anything with it)
            Although there are 100 Links in a chain :scratch:
            Just to make it easier - there are 10 chains in a Furlong (but no fur)
            Then there are 40 Rods, Poles or Perches to a Furlong (but no fish)

            To make it even simpler there are
            6 feet to a Fathom (fathom that one out!)
            15 Fathoms to a Shackle (but you can't lock anyone up with it)
            608 feet to a Cable (but you can't send a message that way)
            10 Cables to a Nautical Mile (nothing naughty about it)

            Then you have Hands, Palms, Nails, Fingers, Spans, Cubits, Ells, Bolts, Leagues and many more.

            I really can't understand why people say that Imperial measurements are difficult :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

                Those are all varieties of Capsicum Chinense (although they don't come from China!).

                  Just piggybacking onto this thread - I have my heated propagator, and am so excited this year to be planting..

                  * Carolina Reaper
                  * Devil's Tongue Yellow
                  * Pepper Cayenne Long Purple
                  * Borg 9 Red
                  * Capsicum Chinese

                  The only question I'd have would be: tissue or soil? Opinion seems to be split here. The instructions for the propagator say to sow the seeds in small pots (they even supplied ten or so of them). I guess that's what I'm going to do.

                  I'm going to start that this weekend.

                      I agree that soil is best. I will be starting my peppers around boxing day using soil blocks. This year I will be using capillary matting with them. :)
