That image will be really useful the next time somebody asks how to eradicate Bindweed!

 

A visit to Pitlochry last week on the way home from Perth (@silu ) and well worth the trip. It's a pretty town and Mr S. and I spent a good few hours there looking around.





A small public garden that welcomes people to sit and enjoy the view.




Once again I was caught out by the fact I had to cross a suspended footbridge and no, I'm not getting used to them! With other people on the bridge I was almost reduced to crawling across. Just below the bridge you may be able to see a dot in the river to the right.....


......and this is what you can see. Anglers on the River Tummel.


Pitlochry's dam - and at the bottom of the picture the start of the salmon fish ladder which is quite a length for them to negotiate.


The ladder passes under the road and back up the other side.....


.....towards the dam and across it......


.....and out into Loch Faskally.


Across the dam there is access to this restaurant.

 

Great photos @Sheal. Visited the Salmon ladder many years ago but still remember seeing the Salmon fighting their way upstream.
