We had a beautiful autumn day, it was a great day to walk along the banks of the Mohawk river where the foliage is putting on quite a display.

A beautiful and peaceful scene. Reminds me of my days on the Tennessee River in Alabama. Thank you for sharing.

This warmed my heart when we called in for coffee at a local hotel.

It actually looked worse than it is.
It passed my test anyway……joy is in short supply

While out for a walk this afternoon I discovered I could see part of the Kessock Bridge over the Moray Firth in Inverness, from the road I live on. The image isn't very clear as I'd zoomed in from 14 miles distant.

I travelled 200 miles to visit Bamburgh Castle that was supposedly open all year round. It was closed for the day with no opportunity for me to re-visit on another day. Was I miffed!

Robert De Brus outside Stirling Castle.

                      IMG_8089.JPG

The exterior of Stirling castle is an ugly mish-mash of buildings added in different eras so I haven't bothered with images. That said, it has an in depth and long history. The inside is almost totally bare, so just a few shots below.

Lovely pix on this thread. I have to make a conscious decision to take my camera when out for a local walk as I don't have a phone with camera on it.
Lovely to see the early lambs @wiseowl. I always take pix of them when on hills, and it's become a running joke with my younger daughter. :)

I don't even take my mobile @wiseowl , except as an emergency contact for on hills. I hate them, for reasons I won't bore you with.
My old camera was quite neat, a little Olympus, and fitted in a pocket, but I lost it on a hill, so I treated myself to a better, bridge camera. It's a bit clunky, and too big for a pocket though.
I never got a photo, but one of my favourite views of young lambs was when coming home past L. Lomond, and all the lambs were lying near the boundary hedge in the late sun, just exhausted with the effort of being - young lambs
