    :hehe::hehe: Clare.

    Here is one I caught late yesterday. I guess it might be the plume of a plane whisked around by the high winds and feathery looking -

    Woo, I've just now seen that you posted your lovely seal eating a flounder up in this thread and also the one of the lady (Mrs Woo?) doing her acrobatics on top of a flying plane. Well caught! :gnthb:

    Eddie, that is a really handsome and colourful fella that you met up with. :gnthb: Never seen one like that before.

    Hi there Capney, where do I start.

    First port of call was the NRM from there we headed to town and had tea and scones before going into the park. We were here earlier in the year feeding the squirrels and we were both surprised at the amount of pigeons that had now cottoned on to the fact that humans with hands outstretched are a good food source.

    The Minster was the next call although we didn't go up the tower as we did that during the spring and I didn't want to pay out £5 on top of my £8 entrance price, once a year is enough. The Jorvik centre was also rather pricey but very interesting, it was a toss up between the centre or an open top guide bus ride :hehe:

    A spot of lunch/tea in the Punch Bowl pub and then some retail therapy for Mrs Pip. Did the usual large stores as well as the stroll up and down the shambles. Must go to the Guy Fawkes pub for lunch next time as Mrs Pip mentions it every time we go past.

    We went to York by rail via Preston, a longer route but far better scenery than route Manchester which we did on the return leg, 50 mins less travelling time which is just what the doctor ordered after a long, tiring but above all enjoyable day out.

    Hi Pip
    Glad you had a great day in our city.
    I have to agree the prices are rather high for most things.
    I have a free pass into the Minster and several other attractions but I have to pay if I wish to do the tower tour.
    You put a lot into your day after the NRM, where I can spend hours in there.
    I would suggest you do not take the open tour bus around the city.
    It very pricy and to be honest the city is not that large to warrent the cost.
    Walk the City walls instead.
    Good choice of pub for your lunch.
    I shall be around that way soon myself as I have once again been i invited to my ex works christmas outing with a meal at the indian viceroy.. A vey nice feast indeed.
