Being in Manchester Woo, we get a lot of low flying police helicopters.

We are less than a mile away from the police helipad (if thats what you call it)

In the past the helicopter has been so low at night you can see its headlight beam

    shining through your bedroom window..

Having said that it seems to happen alot less these days.

Wether the crime rate is improving or the cuts are so that

they can't afford for the heli to do as much flying as it once did who knows?

As if they would let us Joe public in on the truth.:dodgy:

Thank you Woo :heehee: I like my curtains to be of light fabric so the sun will wake me in the morning (sun........whats that you may ask)

Im quite fortunate where I live.(Would swap it for somewhere in Devon or cornwall)

that I am close to the city and also the countryside. I count my blessings rather

    than complain these days :)

Interesting, I've never seen a Vriesia with spines, they are usually smooth sided.
Any more pics, I never got to Edinburgh Botanic.

I forgot to get the memory card out of my laptop:DOH: so I couldn't take any photo's however I did have a look around the plant and it appears that there was another label which read Nidularium billbergioides so It appears you were right to be somewhat suspicious:WINK1:
