Glad you like them, Jenny and GA, I keep having to "force" myself to go out into the countryside as I have trouble finding the time. But having bought a new camera and also some more lenses there's no point in just learning Photoshop and not actually taking any pics. So I'm trying to set myself a target of trying to find different projects to do which will also get me more experienced with the new camera and also using at least two lenses while out for the day. The Willow on the banks of the River Weaver caught my eye because of the setting sun gave it a certain atmosphere. But there is such a lot of beautiful scenes out there......I just have to find them!!:heehee:

You are very lucky to have so much beautiful countryside around - here in the fens it's just fields, fields and more fields with plain old dykes. Everywhere is so flat, as the saying goes in the fens 'if you stand on a molehill you get a nose bleed'.

I've got some good memories of Lincolnshire and the Fens, GA. I used to fish the Drains and found them absolutely beautiful during the early morning mists and the evening. The amount of wild life was amazing as well. There are some lovely coastal spots as well so I guess it's a case of, like me, looking:heehee: I know it's flat but it's still quite lovely if you go into the Fens. It's just that East Wind that I used to hate!!;)

The one thing that we do have is beautiful sunsets. I suppose if you have grown up and spent so many years in one place you take what is around you for granted.

That's probably the problem I have, GA, that and trying to force myself to prioritise and find the time to get out there.:heehee:

Got back from Manchester today early enough to stop by Delamere Forest as the Sun was going down. Delamere is a mixture of Deciduous and Conifers trees surrounding some large and small Meres. It's farmed by the Forestry Commission in rotation although they have kept the old historic part of Deciduous trees unharmed. It's also a very popular area for walkers and cycling though as the dark early nights and lower temperatures appear the numbers drop.

It was that time of very late afternoon, Jenny, when there was only a few minutes left of the Sun. The light is always very contrasty then and some colours really stand out, it's amazing how colourful it can be.:snork:

With hard frost on the ground, the bird baths frozen up solid again, I got home today before the light failed and got numb fingers taking pics of frost on things!
