Every Christmas I go to the Church at Baslow in Derbyshire to take a Christmas Wreath for my Dad's grave which lies on the bank of the river. I was going to go tomorrow but the weather warnings have been so bad I decided to go on Friday. It was a bit murky driving over the "tops" with visibility down to around 25 yards at times. But on driving down into the lower country it got better.

This is the bridge as I passed through on my way to Baslow with the water going from your right to your left.

And when I got to the Church at Baslow which lies by the River this is how it was looking upstream..

Lovely photos, thank you Armandii but that swell is powerful. Like most folk, I've had dreams of owning a waterside property but this Winter, I'm thankful that it never came to pass,

I'm thinking that if it rains even more, as they say it will, Stratford on Water will be renamed Stratford under Water.:sad:

At least it doesn't look like its put on too much in height even though the flow has obviously increased....

This is the River Trent about 1 mile from us, well it should be!!!

Not particularly sharp pictures  but I like them. :)

Apart from putting food out for the birds we also put out scraps for the cats and magpies.

After a dusting of snow late yesterday, followed by temperatures down to -7C first thing this morning, dawn revealed every surface coated in ice.
As the sun rose this morning, the photo opportunities were simply too good to miss.
