Sis, I wonder how Martin missed them, they are big enough :hehe:

Here are the pics I took of the "Mobile Phone Pine Trees" which are scattered around down there. Must say they look so much nicer than just plain ol' ugly antennas.

Kedi, that's a good photo of one :gnthb:

When I was out in South Africa the other year I noticed they are called Voda-pines in the newspapers. They also had Voda-palms :)

I certainly agree they look much nicer to the eye than some of the ones over here

Pity you don't have any pics of them shiney - perhaps google for one

.... and Sis gets to look at them all the time :) I wish they would come up with something nice like this up our way.

That's a fabulous colour blue, Kedi :gnthb:

I find trees fascinating and have lots of photos of them - but not of the Vodapine :)

    Here are a few.

    A fairly unusual corkscrew palm.

    Mangrove swamp.

    Coco-de-Mer (Lodoicea Maldivica)

This is a very unusual tree because it has its own anti-hurricane device. It sits in its own bowl shaped base and the roots go down through the bowl. This way it can sway and pivot from the base without being blown over. Clever tree :thumb:

Strange tree we admired, when out with our family in Trentham Park.
I think there is a story attached to this very big tree, I will have to go and have another look.

Love the sea pic Wee Tattie!!

This is a couple of pics I took yesterday while flying back from Italy... Luckily the plane flew late, so I was able to capture the sunset over the clouds!!! :D:D:D It is very weird to think that on the ground this was very bad weather!!
