I'm still managing to sell our plants but the last six have been bought just as ornamental plants. It doesn't really matter as long as the charity is getting the money

My chilis are starting to ripen, along with the ones I got from Shiney, should I wait until I see the Hernia Consultant on Monday before indulging in them?:snorky:

Yes, I do have a hernia and a hospital appointment awaits.

Made up my first Jerk marinade tonight. Put all the ingredients in the blender thingy and wizzed up. I took the lid off to give a stir and found my eyes watering, hot stuff!

The Scotch Bonnets are doing well, looking healthy with scary looking fruits. The others (De Cayenne and Apache) didn’t fare too well. That said, I notice that even though the plants are fairly puny, there are a few fruits with one or two ripe ones. Going to try one of these (Apache) in a chilli in the next few days.

I've been picking @shiney's hybrids for a few weeks now, to begin with I was adding 4 to each meal, now I'm cutting down to one as they are getting too hot for me:

They do get hotter as the season goes on. :blue thumb:

Pleased to see they're performing well. :)

Hitching a ride on this thread .. all of my chilis died this year. Every single one. It was harrowing.

I have an indoor propagator, and an outdoor sort of 'greenhouse'. Made of plastic, and without heating.

Question is this: can I plant now, indoor with the propagator, and move them outside, or is the south east of England really too cold to envision doing that over the winter?

It's too late to sow chilli seed now, trouble is over winter they need much more light even if kept indoors. I know some people over-winter mature plants, they don't grow much. You may just as well wait till the spring.

It's too cold over winter for them outdoors.
