@Loofah , I gave a Cayenne type chili to my brother last year. He lives not far from you in Horsley. He put it outside on the patio , in a sunny sheltered spot , and was very pleased with the results.
Maybe in sunny Surrey chilies can grow outside ?

This is true, I could put them on the patio and I think it's definitely worth a go. Weirdly this is a recent thing, 4 years ago I was harvesting chillies that burned my mouth!

Maybe it’s your tastebuds adapting? I know I am becoming more tolerant of heat.

Definitely not that - I've become even more of a wussy with chillies than before!

I started early this year with the new Trinidad Moruga Scorpions.

After ten days on top of the gas boiler and three days on the window sill.

Good germination rate there MisterQ :blue thumb: You should be able to prick out at least 10 nice Chilli plants in 3 to 4 weeks .

I am indeed keen, especially for the scorpions. And, I have a cunning plan in mind.

Thanks! I usually wait until there are atleast two pairs of true leaves before I prick them out into small plastic cups.
