You just reminded me @Jenny namaste that I have some yellow split pea and ham soup in the freezer. And this is the right weather to heat it up and enjoy. It is 1f -18c here right now. Brrrr!

I had that happen once. You just have to keep the wick trimmed and don't run out of paraffin.

I used a paraffin heater to keep my greenhouse frost free years ago. The problem I had was the extra condensation it causes, the windows were running and the plants suffered much more with mould. I certainly would not use one to heat a living space unless it was well ventilated which makes no sense.

I bought a paraffin heater too, after the lamp episode as I figured it would burn cleaner. Unfortunately it was too high a BTU rating (10K) for any of the greenhouses. Even on the lowest setting. The vents were opening totally and the temperature hit over 100f. This heater is one that can be used indoors but I still wouldn't do it, not without a window cracked a bit. I should remember to bring that out this summer for cool evenings. Might as well use up the paraffin.

I use my natural gas heater in the main little greenhouse but not for another couple of months. It is too cold to even think about so no plants will go out until early to mid April.

Mind you, when you read the Constitution and compare what they gained with life in France as it is now, you wonder why they bothered

£200 for people off grid heating, i've noiced that energy supplyers have moved the e-mail reminder for eley meter readings forward, i wonder if it's anything to do with keeping the money in their banks for longer! our meter reading was around the 12th of the month now tis the 3rd :coffee:

Got it today @Jiffy for oil heating. I don't understand why it's paid through the leccy company though?
