    You're an inspiration our "M".

Your new garden is about the same size as mine. Plenty of scope for anything really. I've been here 4 years now and still have a thus far disused section.

That takes me back to my younger days. You have some "area steps" taking you down to the "area" by your front door.

The Shiney ancestral home in Bow had steps leading straight down from the street into the "area" to the front door (no posh front garden with trough :heehee:). A small three bedroom terraced house with my grandparents and their ten children living in it. It did have an air-conditioned toilet - outside in the back garden with the door missing the top and bottom 18". By the time I was around, the house only had my grandparents and two of my father's siblings with their husband's and children. A busy little place :hate-shocked:.

Your idea of gravel and sinks will certainly brighten up the front (I like that trough :blue thumb:). I'm sure your 'girls' will feel at home very quickly.

Good luck with all you wish to do there. :wub2:

One week on and the fencing has been done

And the chooks have been given a winter position:

Looking more like a new build garden at the moment :heehee:

Aww, thank you! Certainly looking a little different from day one but there is such a lot to be done to get to where I want it to be.
Not planning to do anything more this year ... other than ... planning :)

Hi "M" taking shape , looks a good strong fence and room to add some trellis using the post to give a good air gap or you could add wires

I hope :doggieshmooze: has settled in and not forgetting you :dancy: ooh and the :chicken::chicken::chicken::chicken::chicken::chicken:

Thank you @Spruce :) The fence needs to be strong as, apparently, that side keeps getting blown down in strong winds (still standing today after last nights effort: seems positive :heehee: ).
Due to the height though, it's casting quite a deep shadow on that side of the garden ... so, I'm researching deep shade loving plants and I think I will be able to rise to the challenge :blue thumb:
Ozzy thinks he has died and gone to heaven! The walks around here are funtastic! The chooks are happier now they have a proper quarter and time out for good behaviour ;). As for me: love, love, love, love, LOVE it here!! :wub2: There is a village newsletter delivered monthly (no charge) and lists local events. It's a really active village. They even have a gardening club (as well as a WI and an over-a-certain-age club; plus, a local history group, walking groups and a whole host of others). There is a hairdressers and village hall within spitting distance (literally!) and a few short steps to the local pub and a convenience store. Post Office (thought they'd gone out with Blair!) just around the corner and it's the real hub of the place. Want tickets for local events? Go to the PO. Want some fresh local produce? Yup, that'll be the PO! Wish to join the fracking debate? Found out at the PO!! :heehee: Blimey, who ever said rural life was quiet and peaceful? :dunno: :heehee:

Sounds similar to our village :blue thumb:. You'll have a great time. :)

Although our village is down from four pubs to two!

                            UPDATE
Returned from Shiney weekend to find this erected in my garden ...
                            CIMG0048.JPG

Finally, finally, finally I have my trellis divide with my arch entrance :hapfeet:Just need some chicken wire to cover the lower parts of the trellis so Honey doesn't pop through the trellis holes and a small gate for the archway then the chooks can be out all day long and no concerns that Ozzy will mistake them for a snack on legs :yay:
In the chook area behind the trellis work is going to be what I call the "Utility" area. Still need to get a shed (that will go in the left hand corner) and, at some point, there will be a fruit tree going in that area. I've already got a Tayberry bush and a Gooseberry bush for down there and they'll be screened off with a bit of chicken wire to keep the girlies off.

This side of the trellis is (naturally!) going to be planted up with climbers to cover the "view".

So, basically, this is how far I have managed to get since we moved in 9 months ago:-
                            CIMG0082.JPG

The keen eyed amongst you will notice is now has three distinct "areas": patio; 'garden' and now the utility area. Slowly but surely it's starting to come together :heehee:
