Well actually I had a lovely black cat 30 years ago. Got him pre-owned. First time out in the car, he climbed under my seat and nervously puffed poo poof. Spent the entire drive opening the window. Closing the window....... and that's back when there was a handle to crank :)

I acquired a black cat like that, Jack, back in the 90's when working as a Consultant for the then Securicor. I'd gone out of night to do an assessment of the various sites and on getting to one in Manchester around midnight I had a mug of tea with the Guards and then went for a patrol with them. While walking around outside one of the Guards heard a noise in a field and found a really tiny black kitten with no sign of the mother. We couldn't leave it there to die so a "discussion" ensued as to who was going to take the Kitten. None of the Guards wanted it so I rang my Wife [at well past midnight] and asked her if she wanted a Kitten.........and got a No!! Somehow I found myself driving to the next site in Preston with a tiny Kitten asleep on my suit shoulder. Nobody at Preston wanted the Kitten and on finally getting back in the early hours to Manchester with the Kitten, now in my breast pocket to keep it warm, I couldn't persuade anyone to take it. So I spent time on the way back home trying to think of how to persuade my Wife to take the Kitten. When I got home, with the Kitten still in the car my Wife appeared at the door, looked at me and said "Breakfast is ready and where's the Kitten" with a grin. She told me that she knew I'd bring it home and already had a blanket and milk waiting for it. We had a dog and she actually let the Kitten climb into her basket and became it's foster mother.......and my Wife loved that Black Cat!!:cat-kittyandsmiley::snorky:

Oscar adopted us and although he didn't come into the house (lived in the greenhouse) he adored Mrs Shiney and followed her everywhere - when he could climb on her. :snork:

@shiney how lovely! Pets are so loyal and don't ask for much.

@ARMANDII I picture you trying to find a home for the cat... "hey, do you want a nuisance of a cat, or do you think I should take him home" .... :)

I'm more subtle than that, Lori:heehee: I walked around the Office in the morning with just the head of the Kitten with it's big eyes peeking out of my Suit breast pocket because it was so small.[IMG]
Some people wanted to take it but couldn't because they had a dog. My Wife knew I would bring it home. The funny bit was on the first day when we placed the kitten on the Kitchen floor and our Dog got out of her basket to have a curious look at it. This tiny black ball of fur immediately hissed and went into a spikey, arched back, fur mode:hate-shocked: The dog took the hint and went back to her basket. We then watched the Kitten during the day move closer and closer to the Dog's basket until in the afternoon it was in the basket with the Dog. The Dog, Heidii, had already played substitute mother to several Rabbits, a Tortoise:heehee:, and so taking on the Kitten was no problem.

Aww! Thats so sweet of you @ARMANDII I would have taken it home too. That pic is like my Timmy-kins when he was small! His owner turned up on my doorstep and literally said "do you want a cat!" 2 years ago I was looking after feral-ish kittens for a lady that rescued them, she couldn't have them in her rented house due to having too many animals herself. It was so much fun! I'll have a look for the pics in a bit.. since then I have taken in 2 from down the road, they lived in the same house so were pretty inseparable, gingercat/simba was turning wild from being out so much but over the last 6 months he's become such a lap cat.. he's curled up on my chest in this one

It's just after lunch hour here and I am famished. All this talk about food. Guess I'd better have some lunch now.

Oh, and tomorrow night we start DLS so I'll only be 4 hours behind you for a few weeks :)
