    Just gorgeous @Logan :imphrt:

I would have a Goldie again in a heartbeat if I thought we had enough room as their temperament is just the best. We have a big enough garden, but the house is a tad titchy and that makes me think twice.

I don't know anyone who has one at the moment, besides we don't borrow any animal in this house - if they come in, they tend to stay and become part of the family rather quickly. Hell, we were donated a fish tank at somewhat short notice about 18 months or so ago, and we now have some of the cheekiest (and randiest) fish this side of Watford - - and we ended up with a nursery tank! :heehee:

We are not actively looking (nor can we afford to buy) another dog at the moment as it is still very early days - but, if one came up that was in need of a home, we would step in as we simply cannot bear animals to be in distress. If it were a larger dog, we would cope. We would trip over it on occasion, but then that happens with small ones too

I've had and been around dogs since my childhood (Labradors, Retrievers, German Shepherds, Spaniels, Collies, Jack Russells and so on), so would consider myself to be a fairly experienced dog owner, so am not really afraid to take most things on.

@Fat Controller yes i understand. The reason why I said borrow one is because i knew someone who did that with a Goldie but had to give him back. I can understand that we would be the same, couldn't give them back.
When Barley was younger he was hard work and it came to a point where hubby said that he had enough and wanted to rehome him but i said no, now hubby wouldn't be without him now that he's older, i couldn't have done it, all the best for you in the future.

I haven't seen any news until around ten minutes ago, and that was the first bit of news I stumbled across. Very sad.

He was laying out in the rain on the last episode.
I remember thinking, I wonder how much longer he would be around.

Just finished watching Gardeners World, very sad watching Monty talking about Nigel, tears in the eyes I must admit.

There's a picture of him with nigel on the front paper of the times, his first interview since nigel died, he said that he cried like a baby.

He was a handsome Golden beast wasn't he..doesn't feel right speaking of him in the past tense .....right now it's Monty I feel for,as any dog lover knows losing our furry ones is a terrible blow.I'm a huge Golden Retriever lover and it brings back memories of mine I've lost but love all dogs equally and it hurts like hell...
