:cry3: Oh, how very sad. I know you will miss him tripping you up and helping you in the garden. I loved seeing Sarafi's pics in your greenhouse, garden and in Mrs S's arms. How old was he?

    RIP Sweet Sarafi. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

We've just been to his house for the funeral. Quite a few locals were there and the kids. :grphg: Only the adults cried!

Anyone who has been fortunate enough to come to Shineyland will know Sarafi and anyone that knows you and Mrs Shiney will know just how well loved and well treated Sarafi was in his second home. I'd go so far as to say that he was probably one of the luckiest cats this side of Gretna.

I am a great believer that animals choose us rather than us choosing them - this was clearly the case with Sarafi as he had his extended family. He knew he'd got it right too and he had a wonderful life.

Sending hugs to you both :grphg:

I'm sorry to hear that Sarafi died but glad that it was a natural passing. I don't often pet cats as I have allergies to them but I think you remember I couldn't resist giving him a little attention since he was so adorable.

Mrs Shiney has had about 100 emails and Facebook messages from people that knew him. :)

He would let us know when he wanted stroking or some food. He wasn't allowed inside our house as he was supposed to go to his own house four doors away but it didn't stop him trying.

He would sit at our back door and look through the glass
                    P1530624.JPG

                    P1490931.JPG

And if he spotted us in there he would make quite a bit of noise to let us know he was there, and knock on the door.
                    P1530796.JPG

If we ignored him he would run round to the front, climb the tree by the window, hang sideways and peer in.
                    P1120085.JPG

Although he wasn't allowed indoors he was allowed in our summerhouse when we were there. Mrs Shiney is a multi-therapist and during Covid she saw patients in the summerhouse (all Covid restrictions followed - disinfected regularly, temperature taken, doors and widows open etc.).

Most of the patients felt so much better when he was around and usually asked if he would be there. He was quite good at massage
                    IMG_4673.jpg

Or just helping them to relax
                    P1400577.JPG

He also like his regular resting/sleeping places.

A hot compost heap was a favourite
                    P1170092.JPG

As was the heated propagator in the greenhouse
                    P1330047.JPG

He also had his leather executive chair under the pergola in the garden
                    P1290094.JPG

Or a comfy spot on the trolley
                    P1340219.JPG

Like most cats, he liked to curl up in a box - especially if it had apples in it :rolleyespink:

He had other favourite snoozing and snuggling places
