the importance of the right nickname/avatar

The area I live has sandy soil, so I chose Sandy Ground to reflect that. Easy!

 

People used to click there fingers and i had to be there in a Jiffy, gave up that game now

 

The first forum I joined was a cooking one, all the names were gone, made this one up and stuck with it for all forums.
My avatar was because I love Dicentra.

 

Mine is my initials before I got married. I think there used to be a children's comic years ago and 1 of the characters was called Silu

 

My original choice of forum name (which I chose because that is what I was known as and also my user name on other forums) caused a fellow member such great offense/distress that they launched into a most public tirade and very personal attack upon me and the name I had chosen
As my choice in user name was not designed, or intended, to cause distress, let alone that degree of distress, I altered it how could I not?
This one wasn't intended to have quote marks, but, the person I asked to change it, took my comment literally and kept the quote marks
