Would love to get a snap of them but I`m not sure if they will return because they are a fleeting bird and only usually hang about a garden for a couple of days.

Mrs Pip and myself were also watching a squirrel eating away at the nut feeder,it eventually knocked the feeder to the ground and ran off.

See a lot of magpies around here but not in my garden as yet.

Pip, aren't goldcrests lovely? we have them around here, have allotments, trees, bushes etc., but don't get them in my garden unfortunately.

Have had a bird bath/feeder for a while now & the birds definately know where to come/go for a drink or feed. we have had a couple of doves come down to it too - there are alot of coops etc in allotments & gardens a little further from us.

A couple of days ago my husband said he saw a pigeon in the garden looking bad. he watched it walk around for a while, went in the garden & it walked up to him - obviously a home bred or whatever you call it. it was ringed so he picked it up, took it to the bath & it had a drink, then he let it go. Hope this was the right thing to do.

enjoy the birdies, i do, what i can see of them!

    cheers

Saturday morning was doing my duty washing the breakfast dishes watching my blackbird eating pear on the corner of the lawn next time I looked a sparrow hawk was down plucking away at its catch,I feared the worse and thought it was no use the bird was dead, I had my camera to hand and with some trepedation opened the door took a shot, the sparrow hawl took off with the catch, when I blew the picture up the bird it had appeared to be a starling for two days I didn't see my blackbird so still wasn't sure, today she showed up the hawk must have passed over her and nabbed a starling, phew.

Ste I pay about £2.50 for about 3oz of mealworms they are kept in 3 containers and feeding them with bran and pieces of apple(for moisture)they turn into their adult beetle form and breed so i'm not having to buy them too often.

Nice picture walnut, if you know what I mean.

It wasn't nice for the starling though.
