Well done @Jiffy. My daughter has her class 1 and she knows that awful feeling of having gone wrong and not knowing if there is anywhere to turn an artic. Often drivers make a mistake of following their out of date sat navs. We occasionally get artics along our single track road...not a good idea! She swears by Google maps and thinks they are vastly superior to even the sat navs designed specially for lorry drivers. Getting lost down country lanes in a car is 1 thing but in a artic, that's another ball game altogether.
She is just back from a trip to Holland. The way lorry drivers are treated/respected over there is completely different to the UK.They have great facilities for over night stops and the Dutch value the work they do. All our food producers, supermarkets, and the likes of Amazon to name but a few would grind to a halt overnight if it wasn't for lorry drivers.
Having driven a lorry myself (non hgv I hasn't to add!) it is not quite as easy as some would assume. The experience of driving something which was 32ft long did make me understand the skill involved in driving artcis well. Of course you get bad/ignorant drivers but you get those types of humans in all professions!

Thank you Silu, never used a sat-nav just old fashion maps and gut instinct, you do have to be carefull with rights and lefts sent to you, i to have been up narrow lanes and had to back out 4miles then you get it in the ear because your bleeding late!!!!! my answer to that is "i'll get there when i get there and not before" :rasp:

The very kind folk at the council sent me a love note today - council tax bill for the year! Despite me telling them I'm not interested they're very persistent and diligent in their communications. They obviously care about me far too much, despite it be unrequited...

"Well, of course, i would its ...BEEutiful" was her reply ...us gardeners eh:heehee:

You say: "Thank you!" and smile :)

Speaking of which ... on Friday, one of my first calls of the day I dealt with professionally (and from the heart) ... moving on ... just before I left that day, a gentleman was being dealt with by my colleague and when she left to complete his needs, he looked across to me and made a point of saying: " Hello "M", on behalf of my wife, may I thank you for your very kind words to her on the telephone this morning; it meant a great deal: to us both!"

 That made my day - not what I had, or had not said ... but the fact he made a point of it! How very polite and ... meaningful. Thank you, to that couple :love30:

But not that sort of free range ;)

We're used to free range bullocks i've survised that there isn't any accidents with cars/4x4's and tractors by the way some of them drives
