the last cut?

    cut my back lawn that doesn't get any sun now, but was getting so long. have cutter on the smallest(or whatever) so carved up the lawn somthing cronic! will be ok next year i hope. any tips will be appreciated.

    im going to stick my neck out and say tmoz will be the last cut for me :confused:

    I was still cutting well into October last year, depends on the weather, if theres not too much due keeping it wet I'll carry on cutting as long as it's growing.

    Well - last year we were cutting all year round - all be it once a month-ish. I can clearly remember talking mutt for a quick dash around the block on Boxing Day and being staggered by 2 or 3 people out mowing their lawns!!!! :eek:

    Dug announced last night that was the last cut of the year. Aye right. With this Indian summer I doubt it!

    well i got mine cut and would have said the same,then saw the forecast for the next two weeks plenty of sunshine with a bit of rain so im not cleaning the mower yet bet its out again in two weeks....does anyone know the perfect lenght to leave the grass for the winter months [​IMG]

    According Titchmarsh, dont cut it its shortest your mower will go for during the winter. So i think mine is on med/high now. That reminds me, i should check.

    yep newbie i seen titchys advice so i done the same always got it on med /high as the very low settings scare me to death i always think a stone is gonna fly through the conserve window [​IMG]

    surely but surely i can clean the mower now and leave the grass till next year [​IMG]

    I'm thinking about cutting my grass next week, if its dry [​IMG]

    Then i may properly clean my mower for the winter.

    I'm with Honey Bee, I was cutting the grass all year round last year - but not too low in autumn/winter. I cut it only a few days ago and it looks as though it will need it again next week.

    intermiplants, I don't understand the phrase "clean the mower". What does it mean [​IMG] :D ? Never done anything like that in over 40 years of gardening. Is it a new gardening technique? [​IMG]

    Our grass is still growing like crazy Bob cut it again just the other day, I'm sure we will still have many more cuts to do before the year is out!Helen.xxx.

    well the lawnmower is cleaned and put away till next year hope its going to stop growing now [​IMG]
