I'll send you some white seed if you would like them, I've got plenty. They are not as well developed as the original ones, but I don't see why they shouldn't take. :)

I sowed my first seeds on 12 January - so they are 5 weeks and a day old now.
Caesalpinia pulcherrima - a first time for me too. Soaked for 24 hours then germinated 4 days later. The foliage is already standing up to its name (pulcherima = beautiful)

Cobea scandens - also a first time for me. I think it was after your recommendation LongK - so thanks :blue thumb:. I didn't soak them, and they took 23 days to germinate. The seedlings have grown well - only 13 days since the first one germinated.

Old faithfuls - Cannas. The larger two at the back are C. altensteinii. And the ones in front are indica. Altensteinii is also a first for me, though I already have several tuerckheimii. I am interested to compare them. Some sites say they are the same and other sites say not. As Chilterns Seeds are selling both - they obviously think they are different. After a 48 hour soak, they germinated in 8 to 9 days.

I have been growing these in my lightbox, but they are all too big for it now. I have since sown a few more, but nothing else has germinated except for some Gossypium herbaceum, which is one of the cotton plants, and is a member of the Hibiscus family.

Thats a nice selection LongK. I am going to have to Google a number of those. One I am familiar with is Echium candicans. Its one of the easiest to overwinter, and its a true perennial unlike almost all of the others. It also branches, rather than just having a single spike, and consequently seems to flower over a long period as the branches don't all flower at the same time.

Nothing from mine, although they were five years out of the use by date!

                  Mine are doing well too.

Nothing from mine, although I suspect that the medium was too moist.

Add Kennedia nigricans too the list!

                  That's good news!

... 87 packets are overdue for sowing by this date :( :(

                    ... does not include vegetables :( :( :(

No vegetables are overdue for sowing at this date :)

8 "ornamentals" have germinated so far :) :)
