Good on you master!:thumb: I'm envious, as I've said before I'd love an allotment but no one will come in with me. Everybody loves the idea of home grown veggies but nobody wants to put the work in. I get stupid comments like there is no point getting an allotment around here because the soil is depleated!! I'm sure they think you just throw a few seeds around and it looks after it's self.

todays update. (or should that be yesterday).

we have another plot owner all sined up . (we know who this is) ive lent him my spare key so he can get started :)

Apparently there is a roomer that another plot has been let out, but no one knows who the mistery person/persons are, we will have to wait and see, it takes about two weeks for the counsil to send the key and paper work out.

at this rate we should (hopfully be full in a year or so).
    :):):):):):)

things are comming up slowly but surley
ile do a few pickys tommorow of wot ive got in pots ready to go in

ive only had the allotment since march. so im trying to slow things down a little(prepping the soil etc) so that i can hopfully control the weeds on the plot.

if i dont win this year im enjoying getting there
    :D

Just looked through your whole thread Colin! Wow - you have come on great guns!

A man who is happy with a potato for his birthday present..... I LIKE IT!

Seriously, the ground prep you have done is a real credit to you and to get your boy involved is brilliant - get 'em when they're young and impressionable!!!

Your home-made compost heap is highly desirable and if I lived closer I would be sneaking in during the night and nicking it! (Oh drat - just seen you have a night vision camera...)

My mum has tried nearly every type of compost device and she swears by her old pallet ones as being by far the easiest and best. We used to get slow worms in her old pallet heaps so be careful when you stick your pitchfork in them that you don't kebab any.

Would be great to see your emerging spuds....

    :)

Well TM, Pete looks like a good laugh:D Yes, he is lucky to live so close to his allotment. Does he bring a flask with him or just nip home for it?

    cheers
