    Looks like you've a nice clear sky WOO. There's no moon, no stars, nothing visible here now due to a moisture laden atmosphere that developed very quickly after sunset.

    Ive just looked outside now and the moon is so clear here its almost dazzling, If only I had a good camera.:( Maybe someone else can catch it.:wink: 02

    Thanks K-G and O2. I'm still trying to find the optimum settings on the camera for a good lunar pic but I'm slowly getting there. I don't think I'll be able to capture very much more detail with the equipment I've got. The photo above has been subjected to a fair bit of processing in order to enhance the detail so it's not all due to the camera, but a reasonably good, though far from top of the range, zoom lens and 12MB.
    resolution does help.

    BTW the crater 'Erastosthenes' which is at the lower end of the curved range of mountains (Montes Apenninus) in the upper center of the pic is just 58km across.

    I'm discovering a whole new world (or moon) and it's very largely thanks to Walnut's sage guidance. Thanks Walnut:gnthb:
