Yeah, apart from sleepless night wondering about money! I've just ordered some bare root yew hedging for November though, to take my mind off it a bit... It's to replace the 10m of privet they destroyed during the build.
Also started to clear bits out of the greenhouse, old chemicals, general detritus etc until the dustbin got full. Little bits here and there are helping all the time :)
Did come across a hangng basket that had a base and tube running through; it creates a water reservoir under the planting which I thought quite a neat idea.

Yew's a good idea and won't need pruning as much as privet. Yew'll have to watch your youngsters around that though. :)

Decided I needed to add more grass seed as an early downpour after first seeding washed a lot away and it has all come up patchy. Bit frustrating but not the end of the world.

Been continuing with the internal doors today - almost there! They're oak doors which I'm finishing with Osmo oil (3033) for a simple finish. It stinks lol

Some pics of digging out the front compacted ground and shifting 11t soil. This levelled up the front facing side and in the rear garden raised the level a bit to balance the garden out (it's higher toward the very back). We also had a small downpour part way through!

After the lawn prep work, the grass was seeded and did it's thing, then I've worked on the patio grabbing all the hardcore from around the site (of which there is tonnes). Topped this with 5t of scalpings and continued down the side for a path to back door

Some time passed where I mainly decorated inside...

This week we finished the patio at last! It's raised and needs the soil level bringing up to meet it but that can wait until spring. The edges are packed to protect them in the meantime...

What else.... Started on a veg area; the water bath is in line with the back door so focal point but the whole area needs some developing.

Thank you :) Long way to go but certainly getting there. Have been digging out some compacted ground for a fruit bed area this after noon, double digging and adding in old leaves and uncomposted stuff at the bottom to rot over time then the turned soil back on top. So tired!
