Utonagan are quite unique dogs. This breed is the only large breed dog, bred to look like a wolf and with no working use in mind and I hasten to add NO wolf content!

Utonagan are essentially a companion dogs. These dogs have excellent temperament with children. They also love the company of people plus they get along well with cats (if socialised as puppies) and smaller dogs.

Though there were no reasons for breeding Utonagan, other than the looks, they have been selectively bred from three extremely high energy working dogs, which are, Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Husky and German Shepherd and hence they can be trained for anything if desired however, one must understand the natural drive before selecting the dog for specific training purpose.

Despite its German Shepherd ancestry, the Utonagan is not a guard dog. In fact, they would rather lick a stranger than attack them. Utonagans will howl, from time to time, if they are bored or if they wish to attract their owner's attention.

Developed in Britain in the 1980's, Utonagan are still a breed in development, we are getting there but still a bit further to go before we approach the Kennel Club for recognition, they do know about us though.

Ooops, just saw your link Mum, The TUS is all but dead now, the BUS (British Utonagan Society) are a shambles, they ban everyone who disagrees with "the committee" (that's me and the majority of the "old" membership) :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

the parentage is wonderful for your pups. you should be able to be selective on proper adoptions for them.

We are being as professional as possible, all our (T.U.B.R) dogs are fully health tested and carry genuine pedigrees.

T.U.B.R = The Utonagan Breed Registry, NO humans allowed, just our dogs, warts and all, so far, NO warts to speak off :)

I know some fussy breeders over here who "really" want to keep the lines
pure or strong, make the new families fix some of the pups so that foul breeding is not done ruining the lines.

Although, to be fair, the dark one with the splayed legs also ate into my affections :heehee:
