Plant is really starting to grow now at last got two pumpkins growing but think one has been stood on by a dog or something as it's scratched so might remove it and go for next one down on the vine I will take some photos of them at the weekend and put them up

Yellow is normal for big pumpkins, but I 've found that Halloween/Jack o lantern types start orange green.

Yesterday I noticed one of the pumpkins on the plant with 2 on had been damaged and I removed it (nice in lasagne or soup when up to football size). Unfortunately it was the furthest along the main stem.

My third plant still hasn't had a flower open, and despite seeing (and photographing so I'd have a record of when they appeared) 2 female flowers on it, there is now only 1, about 15 - 16 feet alomg the main stem.

A couple of plants, 1st one has got a 5" pumpkin hiding behind a leaf, 2nd pant has that open female flower.

Nothing really happening with my pumpkins :frown: I keep checking & looking...& checking & looking...
          *taps fingers*
Do I need to get rid of any foliage - or just leave to take its course?

This is taken from the bedroom window - the only way I could fit it all in a picture:snork: image.jpg

Hey there cannyfullpots looks nice and Healthy as for trimming leafs I would say but one thing to think about is training it so you have the main vine and then vines come off that but them more vines come of them side fines those I cut off to stop the plant putting too much into producing leafs rather than putting it into pumpkin growth if that makes sense

I pollinated two flowers 9 and 8 days ago, no movement on either so far. Polinated another this morning on one of those plants and one on my third plant. It's not looking good at present I think we have just had too many cold nights and it's knocked the plants for six.

Ill give it another week or ten days then if no movement I'll take advantage of the fact that the bed is clear of weeds, pull the plants and cover ready for next year.

It's been an awful Spring/Summer for everyone so I'm thinking my time might be best used preparing for next season. But I will give it time yet to see if things pick up.

              Steve...:)
