Hehe, rats are fabulous creatures, the love human attention and require heaps of stimulation to occupy them as they're so intelligent, they cant possibly live in singles or they get incredibly ill with a ratty form of depression/stereotypies.

So beautiful too. You'll see. ;)

Personally would not have them in the house Whiley but each to their own .A friend of my wife had a pet rat last year and brought it to visit one day and my two kids had a ball with it.Was actually suprised how docile and sociable it was .
Hope your new litter are doing well and keep the pics coming.
    P.S. How are you doing?

Go on, Honeybee! They are lovely pets - don't rush around like gerbils and mice, they like to be fussed! We had 2 - and loved them. One had a brain tumour evntually, kept on going round in circles and bumping into things.... poor thing.

Looking forward to our regular updates, Whiley!

Well done Saffy!!!!! 9 babies  [IMG] Can't wait to watch them grow!!!!

Honey Bee - they'll also require cleaning out cages, locating round house when little darlings have let them loose, and general upkeep. So unless you want to add more chores to your list of things to do(coz we both know the kids won't do it after the novelty wears off!) I'd stick to my guns if I were you!!!!! :D :D :D

Yeah rats are amazing creatures but you need to give a lot of attention in order to keep them stimulated. You'll get your love in return unconditionally with pedigree bred rats, as you can garentee that they've been handled and played with every day from the day they were born and therefore well socialised, you can also have peace of mind that most pedigree lines are bred for health and temperement, very much unlike petshop rats. My darlings are all amazng, and i take any opotunity to prove it so! :D

With the shading coming through i can just tell whos going to be black/agouti [4 of them], Ruby Eyed Siamese [2 of them] and burmese/agouti burmese[3!].

Not a bad turn out.Should have a better idea of specifics with black and gouti tomorrow, and clearer on all by Sunday.

Beefy - I'm not doing badly, just plodding along doing my thing, admittedly in short distances but i am doing it! :D

And last but not least, Sudona Sunrise. The little buck originally nick named Cheesethief, but new owner has already named him. :D

It turns out that there was nothing really keepable in the litter - i needed an agouti burmese buck ideally, but she gave me two agouti burmese [we think] does. May still keep one of the does, or i may pinch her back from her new owner as shes a good breeder friend of mine. The thing is, that leaves me with 3 does to have litters through next summer, not really ideal! But nevermind, might still happen. 8)
