Also useful in winter, put it on in the bedroom overnight to save on heating costs, but watch out for OH going to bed with a spoon.

I've used a pressure cooker for over 30years. I do, chicken casserole, cook all vegetables,I always put them in altogether. Cook fruit for marmalade and jam. Christmas pudding. Don't use a slow cooker.:doggieshmooze:

I love this thread already! Am a big pressure cooking enthusiast.

I watch the pennies quite a lot. Because of this, and wanting to eat a bit more healthily, i got an Instant Pot last year: Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker, 6 Litre, 1000 W, Brushed Stainless Steel/Black: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home

It's a pressure cooker but also a slow cooker and yoghurt maker (should you ever want to do that!). You can make anything in it, and it cooks a whole chicken in 50 minutes!!

I love it. It's saved me in the winter making stews and casseroles in 20 mins. I've made rice pudding in 20 minutes, pulled pork with BBQ sauce in 40 mins... the list is endless. I love it. One of my friends made a cheesecake in hers. I love that you can just put it on and leave it, go and do stuff, and then it will bleep when things are done. It also seems to make the taste of much food i would cook in a saucepan stronger and it has more depth too,

I love cooking things from scratch and find this helps during the week when there is very little time to make things freshly. And am always trying new things in it! If you are ever thinking of a pressure cooker, i would strongly advise to go for it, excellent and brilliant stuff.
