    Very well said @fat controller.
I only buy organic milk, it's better for the cow & for me!
The way our farmers are treated is a total disgrace....I'd be happy to pay double for milk, we need to keep producing food here, the way this country is carrying on we soon won't have anything left!
Really bad subject to get me on because it makes me feel so cross & really sad for the farmers....if only I could make the world a fair place I would in a heartbeat!....now climbing off my hobby horse after my rant!!!

Today's haul, 155 cans & bottles of booze reduced from £100 to £21, that's Xmas sorted, now just need another trolley/boot load for New Year.

Up to 80% off, but some didn't have the original barcodes covered (always look out for those!) so scanned at full price and I got 'Double The Difference' refunded.

Average of 13.5p each for cans of Strongbow, Stella, bottles of Becks, etc., only went there to buy a pack of bread rolls and some mayonnaise.

Our dairy industry is largely protected - price fixed.

We pay $8 for a good quality 4 liter milk.

Cheese is ridiculous to try to afford - and yes, here too they keep reducing the size of the purchase without lowering the price.

A can of Stella is $2.

Pretty soon I'll be able to fit a chocolate bar in my change purse!

            current conversion $1 canuck buck = 50p

Got sent some £10 off £30 at Tesco vouchers so decided to have a bit of fun and see how much stuff I could get for next to nothing ...

                Bought:

                4 x £2.50 pizza
                4 x £2 frozen roast potatoes
                3 x £4 packs of cheese

plus these to either act as 'fillers' to get number of items up for a 'Brand Guarantee' shop, or to soak up the savings (AKA 'overage')

                4 x £1.95 jars coffee
                40p mayo
                60p salad cream
                25p curry sauce
                31p biscuits
                9p banana
                4p carrot

                Total = £39.89

                Paid with:

                £10 off £30 voucher
4 x £2.50 get pizzas free (from promotional packs)
4 x £2 get roasty spuds free (vouchers from ATM)
£3 off £12 dairy voucher from Xmas mag

                plus got

-£4 Brand Guarantee because the free roasty spuds are £1 cheaper at Morrisons
-£4 BG because free pizzas are £1 cheaper at Morrisons.

Total to pay only 89p! (and I got 39 Clubcard Points) Going to do another 4 similar shops before Xmas and stock up on non-perishables/stuff for daughter to take back to uni. The trick is that if you've got vouchers to get stuff free, buy it from where it's the most expensive, use a conditional spend voucher plus get the difference between their price and where it's cheapest back under a price guarantee scheme, more is less.

Got almost £90 off our shopping using loads of those roastie tater vouchers from the ATM, as they contained meat supplied friends, family and neighbours with free packs, but mainly went to village fund raising Xmas dinner and weekly lunches which are very popular with the elderly.

Can't get any more free pizzas in our freezers, and that's after taking loads to daughter at uni when bringing her back for Xmas, that also got about another £30 off our shopping.

Got another load of free New Covent Garden soups, but have stopped buying them as now getting a bit fed up with them, plus making room for in our fridge for bargain cheese shops but can't freeze cheese because they're full of free pizzas!

About a month ago got £130's of free rice crackers, crispbreads and pretzels from Morrisons, plus about £12 off our shopping.

Also got almost 3 years supplies of Barrilla pasta and pasta sauces for us & daughter all for free from Tesco, these were very handy for getting up to a total of 10 items when doing 'Brand Guarantee' shops there.

Still got quite a few free pasta sauce vouchers left which we've been using for Brand Guarantee shops to get 280g tubs of Philadelphia soft cheese for 40p each in lieu of £2.40 each:

5 x £2.40 each (all different flavours means less additional items) = £12.00

Plus further (non-branded or it might muck it up if cheaper elsewhere) items, such as 4 x small baguettes, 1 white, 1 brown, 1 tiger, 1 cheese for £1 to go with the spread, plus a small carrot for 5p (Pup gets carrot on our return).

Use a £3 off 'dairy voucher from the Tesco Xmas mag, getting cost of cheese spread down to £9, and as Asda are selling it for £1.40 each, you'll get £7 Brand Guarantee knocked off the bill, getting it down to £2 or 40p/tub, that's cheaper than Value cheese spread and larger tubs.

Check price here http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/brands/Philadelphia_in_ASDA.html first, it's the 270 & 280g ones that need to be still £1 at Asda and £2.20 at Tesco, got another 5 tubs today for daughter to take back to uni after Xmas together with loads of our other stuff, expiry dates seem to be towards the end of March.

Or something less Philly intensive would be a double pack of 350g Cathedral City Cheddar (£7.50 at Tesco, £4 at Asda) plus 2 x Philly tubs, total = £12.30, use £3 off dairy voucher plus get £6.30 Brand Guarantee reduction to get that £12.30 down to only £3.

Off Xmas eve bargain hunting tomorrow.

Well that was very disappointing. Aldi used to have some decent reductions as they close for both Xmas Day & Boxing Day, but nothing this year. Sainsburys had minimal worthwhile 'bargains', if B&Q had any reduced to 10p live Xmas trees this year we missed them, out of 2 x Tescos only one had a few bits and pieces, but Morrisons had a couple of carrier bags of stuff worth buying, might have to buy something full price soon at this rate, not any wasted time/fuel however, as yet again FiL is back in hospital and we combine shopping with visits.

In Tesco's magazine on p1 there is a coupon for £1 off http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/tesc...Diamond_Almond_Breeze_UHT_Unsweetened_1L.html milk substitute, it's on offer until 8/3/2016 at £1 so it's free (my favourite price).

The cartons now instore have use by date of 26/4/2016, so weeks of (fridge) life left, but it's not suitable for freezing. I've been having on my 75% off (damaged packets) cereal for a while now, plus we've used it in quiches and sauces, but Mrs Scrungee hates it in her tea.

In addition to getting 1 Clubcard Point per free 1L carton, go to their website where's there's a 'taste guarantee' money back offer, so paid £1 to take it away http://www.bluediamondalmonds.co.uk/products/almond-breeze-original/

One of our latest shops, £7.97 down to only 9p, but also got 235 Match & More points worth 23p, so actually got paid 14p to take all that shopping off Morrisons hands.

That was yesterday, when Mrs Scrungee got a £5 voucher printed out after 'paying' for that shop + triple points on the full value.

Today did almost as well, got some of these, hope it's OK (thought the full price was a mistake but now seen they go for £6/can on ebay).

These 'may' have been bargains but left them for somebody else
