The first one was potted up a few days ago and the bottom leaves just pretty much died overnight. The second one has been potted up for w weeks almost. The bottom leaves started to curl shortly afterwards. It doesn't appear to have gotten any worse. Hoping it is just the shock of the transfer. I'm not seeing anything else unhealthy on the plants.

All 5 varieties of Toms that I've sowed have had just about 100% germination and are looking good. I'll wait until the second pair of leaves are out and then think about transplanting them in pots from the seed trays. Last year's crop of toms was very good, let's see what this year's weather will do for us.:snorky:

They look healthy to me. Could they have become too hot on the window ledge? Is there a radiator underneath? The coteledons (first leaves) look healthy and that is good as they provide nourishment in the early stages.

There is a radiator but they're not directly above. It is not set very high. Any damage so far has been limited to the first true leaves. I guess I'll not get too worried unless it starts spreading.

@Mike77 your first true leaves dying might be due to over-watering at some stage. Anyway as the rest of the seedling looks OK I wouldn't worry.

              Aye up.
I’ve just sown what I had left over from last year, ‘Sungold’ (5 seed) and ‘Tumbling Tom’ (5 seed), but I need a few more for outside. What I’m looking for is bush/tumbling tomato recommendations, for containers. ‘Peardrops’ is one that is catching my eye, anyone tried this?

              Anyone?

In spite old man winter still hanging on in New York, I have started my tomato plants. For some reason, people tend to give me seeds to try, so I have unknown seeds from Italy from the postman, Italian tomatoes Redorta and Cour di Bur from a surveyor who was working near by, New Yorkers from a dog groomer, and Hungarian peppers from I don't remember who. The staple variety for my greenhouse is Tropic, so I have mostly planted those. It seems silly to be starting tomatoes with snow in the forecast for tomorrow, but hope springs eternal. The seedlings are under a grow light with an 18-hour cycle and a heat mat 24/7. As I got a real late start this year the seedlings are now just beginning to form true leaves.

Ok, just been down the GC and picked up ‘Cherry Falls’. Tomato seed seems to me to be getting rather expensive, these were £3.49 for a non-hybrid:rolleyespink:
