No idea what variety these are, as they were just handed to my Dad on one of his post rounds. But, 7 weeks after they were sat in pots in a recycled ice cream tub, they're now almost as tall and wide as the greenhouse.

It’s ‘Blossom End Rot’, caused by irregular watering.

Maybe over-watering Paul? How are you growing them? Gro-bags, in soil or containers? Do you check the compost before watering - is it soggy?

How long do Tomatoes normally take to ripen? These Moneymaker ones seem to be forever to ripen.

Moneymaker take 75-80 days from planting out to first fruit ripening on average. When did you plant them out?

So 75 days on from early May would be mean they should start ripening next week - fingers crossed for you. It's not exact - as it assumes you plant at the same time as when the flowers set fruit and subsequent weather conditions.

PS: Some varieties ripen much earlier for example 'Suncherry' is 58 days, I had my first ripe one three weeks ago. So maybe something to think about next year, go for earlier varieties.

Can I please bother you all again. Can you use Miracle-Gro All Purpose Concentrated Liquid Plant Feed along with the High Potash Feed 4 or would that be to much.

You could Jane, but use half the amount of each otherwise it would be too much feed. I'm not really sure why you would want to do that though, have all your plants got flowers and fruit? If so just keep going with the High Potash feed.

I'll just stick with the Potash stuff then JWK. I thought the Miracle Gro stuff may of sped up the ripening process for some unknown reason. But them I'm just an amateur lol

I'm thinking about pulling unproductive tomato plants. At what time of year should i admit defeat with these plants?

I'm growing them outside and am concerned that any fruit not set very soon won't ripen. There is a lot of flowering going on right now and the plants seem healthy. I could put a polly tunnel on top to extend the season a bit.
