That's a shame. It could have been the weather. A couple of years ago my parsnips bolted but it was too soon to harvest. Left them until it was but very tuff, they were ok after cooking.

Courgettes are grown by Mrs S. She does the sowing, then the planting out and I do the looking after and harvesting. Looking after takes no work at all as they just require watering and, as they're alongside the beans, they get watered when I put the sprinkler on the beans.

I can't answer that because I decided not to buy anything from that seller.

If you want to buy reliable giant marrow seeds, purchase them from either

          Giant Marrow

or exhibitiongarden | eBay (marrow seeds sold out at the moment, but should be available towards end of year).

At the end of May this year.

One 80L container (well, actually two broken ones slotted together).

About 60L of spent compost with a bit of top soil and fish blood & bone fertiliser mixed in.

                    Two spindly butternut squash plants.

                    The question was:

                    Will there be fruit?

Last year, the general consensus was two.

                        But, this year...

Three already with the real possibility of five or six in total.

I'm still picking loads of French beans and the runners are giving me about 10lb per week but are now in better condition since the weather has cooled down. One big problem is that a lot of the runners are being chewed by something. It can't be any mammals because of where the damaged beans are and the type of damage. It's not slugs (also impossible for them to have gotten to some of them) so it has to be something flying.

Planted a few French Bean earlier this year... a first for me.. and getting a great crop now which I'm really pleased with....cause they taste fantastic!
Just started pulling my carrots too..."Resistafly"...I didn't thin them enough but still despite the odd shapes and odd small stumpy one the taste difference compared to shop bought is like night and day..
I'm hooked on veg growing now!

This variety really lives up to its name being both sweet (sweeter than a ripe red bell pepper) and sized, well, just right for a snack.

Roasted, stir-fried and stewed is how I normally like them but this one I can tolerate eating raw.
