This is more or less how it will stay over winter. It's pretty wet so this will help it dry out and it's open at the sides so through draft will help too. Assuming the plastic doesn't get blown off of course.

The teensiest of teeny tiny updates... I got mud.
It's a topsoil / compost mix and I've shovelled about 2 tonnes into the greenhouse. Top tip for anyone pondering a project like this - have a method for tipping in compost from a wheelbarrow.

Can you use wet and forget on the brick walls? Maybe losing the moss or whatever it is would help them dry a bit? :noidea:

Funny you should say that, as it's exactly what I meant to do before getting the mud in!

I still haven't bought any wet n forget...
But I have had the plastic off and recoated the rafters in creocote. Very silly of me but when I first did it the weather was very cold and the wood wet so I shouldn't have started. Anyway some of the treatment didn't soak in properly hence me going over it again.
Next is glass. I've ballsed up the design a bit in the way I'm glazing and battening the glass down. Not the end of the world but it means no guttering for now - you'll see why as it goes up

Annoying but you'll no doubt get it sorted. :)

First bits of side glass in. I've also figured out how to get small guttering in so woohoo.
Picked up some patio magic yesterday and sprayed the walls, not sure how long it takes but it's still a state today :)

If it's like Wet and Forget it can take a few months.

What a great thread and a fantastic job so far @Loofah really impressed and the greenhouse is going to look great once finished.

As for Patio Magic, I used some the other day and was really pleased with its ability to remove the green algae, mine took a couple of days to work, though it doesn't clear the black spots it makes jet washing the concrete much easier.

On the strength of it I bought another 5L to do the front drive.

                      Thanks :)
I'll wait and see what happens to all green stuff. Hopefully it will just disappear but I'll need to brush it down at the end of the season to tidy it all up.

The black spots will be mature lichens. They're a nightmare here. The only solution is hydrochloric acid, but not ideal on areas where run-off might affect plants!
