When it's not freezing outside I've done little bits of glazing. This has been the panes of 1x1.5' safety glass that is in various piles around the garden. No idea why but it's free and after a scrub looks fine and covers the windows almost perfectly.
I'm not sealing, just supporting with some ali clips and holding in place with battens. It should keep most water out and allows for some movement.

The clips are normal greenhouse z clips bent out and drilled. They're screwed into the frame to support the glass which is clamped in place with a treated batten

A few pics of what I mean -
      PXL_20230313_165233972.jpg

Where there's an odd gap I'm covering over either with normal horticultural glass cut to size or slate. This one to the left is an opening that will have slate.

At either end I'll be using horticultural glass so I can cut to size. The strips I cut off the rafters to create a rebate (before I switched to a router) can be used as beading

It would be nice to have a space at the bottom of the glass to allow the condensation to get away. in Pic 1.

I've pondered this and might back off the screws a bit and insert a shim if the condensation is bad

It's coming on well Andy, but if a pane breaks will you have to remove all the battens to replace it?

Just one and it's only held by 2 screws, can probably have it swapped in a minute (not including mopping up blood and broken glass:biggrin:)

I've put in the uprights for the far gable end and added beading ready for glass. I got halfway through creocoting it before the heavens opened!
With glass cut I'll use a glazing silicone and bed it in then fix in place with glazing tips

A big day for this in that I've taken the plunge and ordered the roof glass, 4mm safety glass and it's quite pricey stuff. After shopping about a bit I got the best price I could but lets just hope it fits and I don't drop any.

The end glazing is done bar a few finishing bits which I'm in no hurry to do. Thanks to a top tip from @pete I bought an oil filled glass cutter which worked very well. I mucked up a few but there's so much spare stuff knocking around it's not a problem :) You'll see in the 2nd pic I made a schoolboy error, one of many, and the spacing is just wrong. I looked at the open gap and just divded it up completely ignoring the big fat upright and, worse, the width of the existing glass I had. Anyway, aside from having to trim glass by small amounts down the edges it is at least symmetrical.
I've added in some filler strips to reduce the gap from 30mm that will be under the roof glass; it should now be 2-5mm(ish) for condensation runoff.

I've also just realised I have to make securing battens before the top glass can be fitted...

Good to see its all progressing nicely.
Not sure I can claim the credit for the glass cutter, but good you have got it sorted, you wont be able to adjust the roof glass, (as you know), I assume it toughened, so yes, lets hope it fits.

Love following this thread @Loofah it's going to look so good once finished and big respect for taking on the work.

Could you please give a little more information about those huge pipes?, I presume they were a source of heat for the greenhouse, I'm just not sure how they would have worked.

If it doesn't then the router is coming out again! I'm fitting the glass so there is a permanent gap at the apex for ventilation. If need be I can bust some stuff up and add vents or whatever. Who needs money, right?

The pipes were / are connected to this -
                      PXL_20220824_094130506.MP.jpg
It was a coal burner that heats up as a lump of iron and the heat travelled along the pipes. It's er, a bit dated now (completely fallen to pieces) so purely decorative. There's one section missing and I'll take out the other pipe in the same section to give an extra shelf for pots.

Somewhere in there is a mouse and it's eating things...:th scifD36:

Thanks @Loofah an interesting bit of kit, would have been great if it was still in working order.

You'll have to try and pursued the mouse to find a new home, preferably outside of the greenhouse.
