Not exactly all gone to plan but as close to acceptable as I can make it with gravel boards. The 2nd section just wasn't fitting. After much frustration I stopped and came back to it and made the 3rd section. This fitted better but warping boards mean it won't be razor straight. Deeply annoying.

It looks so good @Loofah I know I have said this before but, you have done such a great job bringing it back to life, such a great looking greenhouse.

            Thank you again
I planted some tomato plants this evening and realised there's quite a lot of growing space in there!

Have to plug the little window gaps next and of course fit the door.
What I'd really like is to learn how to do stained glass windows and make some just for the little windows

It looks great Andy and a credit to your hard work. I wonder how long the glass will look so clean and shiny? :)

I assume he's going to get the staff to keep the glass clean.
It does remind me of something rather grand and from an earlier age.

                    Little updates time...
The greenhouse has a door; this is the original door, glass removed, mechanically stripped and repainted in a sage colour with new brass hinges and knob. I also had to fit a new latch which was fiddly and not fun. It's a smidge narrower than the frame so I've been creative with the catch -

                    I've also built myself a porch :)

Wow. And to think when you first bought there, you were entertaining the thought of getting rid. What a fantastic restoration and renovation.

Now all they need to do is make it legal for your to grow your own weed over there.. :heehee:

And on the hottest day of the year so far I decided it was a good idea to labour intensely and take out a section of steel pipe.
The bit below was already missing and taking out this piece means I get a new growing shelf for pots etc.
Four rusty bolts surprisingly came out but the joiners were too corroded even after some percussive persuasion.
So I got to make whoopy with the angle grinder. The sparks flew .

Just as a continuation I thought I'd show how the greenhouse is looking now it's in use. I still haven't plugged the last corner pieces of glass and there's no guttering.

Wow, it looks more like a posh hotel for those Insta people than a working greenhouse :dbgrtmb:

The woodwork is exquisite and fits in very well with the rustic stone walls. The whole idea of a sunken greenhouse is unheard of nowadays so you have salvaged a piece of history too.

On that note, the story of your journey from an old ruin to this might interest wider group of gardeners and garden historians alike, why not share it? Looking forward to watching you fitting the last bits with Monty. :)

                            Well done @Loofah :)
