I've been enjoying reading through the thread, great that you have got it useable again

Sunken greenhouses are quite popular in places with a more severe climate than we have in the uk. It's so mild here they don't really make much sense, but if you can harness the cooling in the summer and heating in the winter from the ground it makes a lot,of sense in more continental climates.

It's looking good Andy. Apart from the things that are still to be done are you happy with the way it's come together?

I am. As with a lot of people I can be overly critical of the work put in but it's a lovely place to be and over time I'll add little quirky touches.
Moreover, it seems to work well as a greenhouse! I didn't add growing wires fast enough and I've used this season as a learning year as to how I might space and position plants.
The bit under the staging I'm thinking of digging out as I'm not growing anything there and making some bays for different growing media. Maybe too poncy perhaps!?

It was a steep learning curve for you and yes, we can be critical of our own work, but I think you've made a great job of it and have earned a pat on the back. :)

Like taking on a new garden. I think it was a good idea to use this year for trial and error, and see how things go through this coming winter.

If you don't try it you won't know if it will work. :)

I think you have done an amazing job. We will always feel we could have done better, that is what drives us forward.

I would love to have that in my garden. Enjoy your hard work, I would.

A little decoration for the end of the greenhouse ridge (it's a squirrel)

                    Perfect :wub2:

He reminds me of a prime minister somehow, not sure which one. :heehee:

It's so good to see that even today we have people who take a piece of wood and make it something useful or just something nice. :)

I can't say it's a work if excellence but it seems to fit :) Just have to find a long screw to attach it now

Just brings to mind someone I remember from work many years ago.
                      His name was Ivor Diprose.
But obviously he was renamed Ivor Bignose.

Just joking, but I did think that it wasn't the finished article.

I suggested a pineapple ages ago, and you said maybe an acorn?:)
