Depends on where the glass finishes. I'm trying to either butt it up tight to a piece of wood to get a runoff or to let the glass extend beyond the top plate so it's not an issue (but a physical stop for the glass is a problem with that solution

I think it's normal for the glass to run out and over in order to reach the gutter.
In the old days they would probably made lead z clips, if you get my meaning,, but long ones, fixed to the lower framing, running along under the glass and bent up over the end of the over hanging glass.
That also gives clearance for the condensation to run out of the inside of the roof glass.
Still think it must make that a damp spot though.

I was earlier replacing lead with sheet ali but thinking about it lead might be better.

Ah. That may LOOK like a design feature but was in fact, a collapsing building.

I realise now that a nail will suffice to stop glass falling downward of course and that a simple overhang of the glass should solve thihngs if push comes to shove. I would like something a little prettier though

Lead would be nice and I get what you mean on the condensation gap now. All timber greenhouses have damp spots in corners, it's unavoidable so I'm not getting too concerned over it. If there's a way of preventing it then I'll certainly take a look

Do you mean these type John, we call them holding clips but some call them over lapping clips.

We have them in our commercial glasshouses to prevent the glass sliding into the gutter. Need two people though, one inside to feed the clip through and hold it in place while someone else bends the clip over the glass from the outside.

They should work even with your timber wall plate

I've found them on Amazon so might buy a pot and see how they do.

Quotes for glass just for RHS is around £1000...

I may also try making the rebate with a saw. I've done a test piece and it works fine, I just need to get the depth setting right

No pictures but have made small progress; the middle and RHS corner rafters are up and the LHS riser frame (wrong term but it's a vertical frame so the rafters are same pitch as the other side) is in place.
Rain has continually stopped play and it's very annoying!

Oh and I've drilled through the toplate and put in the masonry bolts to keep the toplate in place

Small excitement here as posty has just delivered a rebate router bit with various sized bearings. Can't try it out today but tomorrow morning should see me caked in sawdust :)

You don't have to use the bearings you can just use a fence if you like, stating the obvious I know.
Bearings often get caked with resin and all kinds of stuff, so give it a spray with WD40 regularly when in use.
