    The latest offer for them by a coin seller is £35 (actually haven't counted how many I have but I guess it's closer to 100) but I'm trying to get more so I can give it to our charity.

      If they are pre 1947 they will be 50% silver and pre 1920 are nearly 100% silver so they can be worth a lot just for their scrap value :blue thumb:

        None of them are pre 1947, I think, but I did tell the dealer the dates and he said which ones he was interested in. I'd have to look up what they are as I have listed them somewhere.

          Um...do they have a 'scrap' value, though? I recently rediscovered a boxful of old English coins, everything from ha'pennies to crowns, but from what I read it's illegal to melt down coins of the realm, so unless they're commemorative coins, they're worthless. Of course, it's probably only illegal in UK :biggrin:
