Things that have made you happy today' 2023

Waking up in the morning.

 

I decided a few days ago not to eat any more chocolates until Christmas Day, but I changed my mind when the people next door gave me a box of Quality Street this morning

 

Had a nice surpise about 5 minutes ago, As i keep an eye on a few things, the neighbouring worker gave Miss Jiff & Me a nice few bits and bobs as a thankyou for the runner beans and general helping out when there is a problem etc, i don't do it for anything but a thankyou is nice but a box of goodies has gone down well so well were both gob smacked as Christmas is a normal day for us

 

Staying home.

 

Just being here with our eldest and video calling our other sons ( seeing another one tomorrow).

That to me is what Christmas is all about...family and friends.

How fortunate we are.

 

J and I met on Christmas Day 1967 so It is our 57th together. We always spend it alone , of course with whatever furries we have at the time, currently Chere Khan (Munchkin) and Hoover Van Dyson (Van). We have a Spicy Beef and Noodle take away we bought on Friday from the Chinese and add fresh gingered carrots made with Bols Ginger Liquer ,,, and perhaps Lemon Sorbet or a Toffee Banana.

You too Upsy. J is just lighting a fire and Munch is helping him at the woodpile and Van is in his treehouse.

 

Finished cooking the turkey dinner and had it at 11 am. Have the pudding later and just sitting and falling asleep, everything is quite.

 

Gosh @Logan you have dinner early, I thought you eat around 3.

Well I'm truly happy ,as we have had video calls from both of our other sons. Seeing one of them and their fiancee tomorrow as well.

The meat is cooking on son's BBQ, Turkey, Lamb and a Chicken. Potatoes and veg are in there as well. The aroma is knockout scrummy!! We have Christmas songs playing out on the roof garden, so very festive.....and hubs and I ....are desperately offering our services but son is so laid back and chilled and says 'no ,all is under control' . So we are enjoying a very chilled and relaxed day. Most definitely being spoilt........and loving it ( although doing nothing doesn't come easy to hubs and myself) but feeling a tad guilty/ lazy too.
