I hope you don't get a frost! I wouldn't plant out tender stuff like impatiens for another month or so.

Very sensible in Yorkshire, but I am in a maritime region. A frost in May here is possible, but very unlikely. :)

This afternoon's election result in my city has made me very happy , as did the family trip to the polling station with both my children able to vote for the first time.

Early start took some of our excess plants to a Local carboot across the border in England . Lovely drive up through a Forest and guess what there was quite a few other people with plants as well . Must say Tomato plants are the flavour of the day !

The other day I was checking the coins in my purse and found that the local BP petrol station had given me an interesting £2 coin. So I put it on one side. I have just been googling it to find that it may be worth rather more than £2. One chap on eBay wants £12,000! I think some do try it on. But I will monitor eBay to see what prices are achieved. But it's definitely worth more than £2. And I will probably sell it - well I won't be spending it!

I am forever looking out for the alphabet 10 pence coins, but I've never had one in change ... yet.

Well @ViewAhead I have not heard about or seen those alphabet ones. I will keep a look out. Our garage must be very "international" - we've had a Jersey coin, euros and American (hubby has added that to his own collection).

It's been a lucky day - I have just cracked open 2 eggs and they are both double yolks. What are the odds for that?

@ViewAhead you have a long way to go for all 26. I have never seen any unusual 10p coins at all. Will let you know if I get any!

Studying the coin I realised it celebrates the union of Scotland and England.

I certainly have! I think they have deliberately kept the numbers in circulation low so those who want a full set will buy them from Royal Mint, for about a fiver each! :yikes:

@Sheal yes and around the band it says "United into one Kingdom". Rather nice I think.

It is nice @cactus_girl :) but it's a United Kingdom in name only these days.
